Confessions of a Scary Mommy

5/5

(I have been a follower of Jill’s blog for years so I was excited to hear she had a book coming out. She is hysterical and honest…even as a non-mom but full time child care provider, the book made me laugh and shake my head in agreement. A funny, light, quick read!)

Uncharted Territori

3/5

(I’m not sure why I picked up this book- perhaps because the author has been in the news recently due to the announcement of her latest pregnancy? I came across it in the library and it was a quick read. I’m not familiar with the actress really so it was only slightly interesting to me. In all honesty, the author/actress comes across as pretty ditzy and unsure of where she wants to commit- her career or her children. Fans of the actress will probably enjoy the book more than I did.)

The Woman Who Wasn't There

4/5

(Another random library pick up-- and what a find. This was one of the strangest stories I've come across in a long time- and it's true! Even as I read, I thought, "There is no way this is true. Right? Someone would have found out before now..."  If you are looking for a stranger true story, go for this one. Be warned though- it does deal with 9/11.)

Heaven Is Here

5/5

(Stephanie has added to the list of popular bloggers-turned-authors (Ree Drummond, Dawn Meehan, Matt Logelin) with this book. I heard about Stephanie and her accident year ago when it happened and have semi-followed her blog over the years. I flew through this book, which chronicled Stephanie's life, accident, and recovery. Parts were funny and others heartbreaking, but she has a writing style which really pulled me in quickly.)

Catching Fire

4/5

(This Hunger Games book took me a lot longer to get through- not because I didn't enjoy it, but because of my schedule. I finally had some down time this weekend and flew through most of it. I didn't find it quite as captivating as the first HG book, but it's still quite the story!)
