A Billion Reasons Why

I vaguely remember reading this light-hearted novel years ago, but it was fun to revisit it!

The Breath of Dawn

There were parts of this book I loved and chapters when I couldn’t put the book down—and then there were slower chapters I wished would move along!

Full Disclosure

I really enjoyed this book and am thankful Dee is publishing books again- but the book took me a very long time to get through. Then again, it is over 400 pages so maybe that is why? Smile

When A Heart Stops

Irene is easily my favorite author of 2012. I really enjoyed all of her books- perfect suspense novels!

The Bridge

Karen never fails to pull me into a story! I definitely understood this story a little better because I had read “The Beginning” but either way, another great book from Karen.

Sandwich With a Side of Romance

This book would easily make it into my top 5-10 books of the year- I found it delightfully funny!

The Beginning

The only book I’ve ever read fully on an electronic device—and that is likely why it is rated 4/5 instead of 5/5. I’m just a book book person!

The Atonement Child

For some reason, I just didn’t enjoy this book as I’d hoped I would. It was a challenge for me to muddle through.

Double Time

4/5

(I love anything twin-related, so this was a fun book!)

Rainbow's End

3/5

(In all fairness to the book, it's extremely hard for me to read anything after a Karen Kingsbury book! I enjoyed this book, it was a nice light read.)

Coming Home

5/5

(As always, Karen does not disappoint. The only negative thing I have to say is I'm sad the series has come to an end. It was a powerful book and not without tears, so be prepared!)

My Stubborn Heart

5/5

Loved, LOVED this book and read it in one day-- the characters were real to life, a bit snarky, and the storyline was interesting. I didn't want the book to end and will definitely be following this author!

After All

4/5

I enjoyed this read--Deborah is one of those authors I find myself coming back to time after time. I look forward to any more books she may write as I enjoyed this series.

Just Between You & Me

4/5

An enjoyable summer day read, this is an author I have not read before but have heard a lot about. I'm glad I checked her out!

Can I Get An Amen

4/5

A very light, funny read by a new author-- another one to check out!

Wish You Were Here

5/5

Another wonderful read for the month of June! The main character is a bride who realizes right before getting married that she is making the wrong move and the story rolls from there. Awesome story, and another author I will be following from here on.

Downfall

4/5

This book was actually the ending of a series. I haven't read the other books in the series but came across this one and ended up reading it solo. I enjoyed reading the end of Emily's story and may go back to read the beginning books.

That's Why I'm Here

3/5

The Spielmans lived in the same city as I currently do, so it was neat to see places I know pop up in the story. I'd heard about Stefanie Spielman for years, but didn't really know the whole story of her fight with cancer and eventual death. I really enjoyed the story but gave it a lower rating because there was a LOT of football talk and I am just not a sports person. I have a hard time reading about sports and sports plays, team trading, etc. For that reason there were portions of the book I skipped completely-- otherwise, it was an entertaining read.

Seaside Reunion

5/5

I enjoyed this tale of childhood friends reunited. It was a light & quick read but very enjoyable.

Fatal Secrets

3/5

This was the first book I read of Barbara's. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't one of my favorites of the month. I felt like the storyline could have been more developed, as the topic of the Witness Protection Program is very interesting!

Wildflowers from Winter

5/5

I have been hearing raving reviews of Wildflowers from Winter for months and was so excited when my copy came in at the library. I was not disappointed! Katie's debut novel was well written, the characters were well developed, and I couldn't put the book down!

Submerged

4/5

Another debut author I enjoyed checking out. The book was a little deep at times for me, as I tend to just enjoy my reading and get pulled into a book, rather than have to work at it to enjoy it- overall, a great new author!

Finally and Forever

4/5

(I eagerly awaited this book from Robin Jones Gunn, as I've been a fan of Christy and Katie for many, many years. While I enjoyed it and found it a fast read, I felt it lacked some of the inner depth I've come to love in RJG's books.)
